Job Summary
Oversee structural design for commercial, institutional, educational, and industrial buildings, preparing technical drawings, specifications, and proposals while ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code. Conduct condition assessments of existing infrastructure and lead design for concrete, steel, and mass timber structures across multidisciplinary teams. Manage junior engineers and technologists, driving projects from conceptual stages through completion. This hybrid role requires 2 days at the Bowmanville or Mississauga office and mandates a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, 8+ years of experience, and PEO membership. Valid driver's license and vehicle access are required for site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in design, construction and project management of structural buildings projects
- Membership as Engineer from Professional Engineer Ontario (PEO)
- PSPC Reliability Clearance
- Experience leading structural design of buildings while working in multidisciplinary teams
- Team Spirit - Able to work with multi disciplinary teams
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of structural analysis software and design tools (eg SAP2000 or similar)
- In depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and Canadian design standards
- Autonomy, initiative, and strong teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (for site visits, as required)
- This is a hybrid role that could be based out of either our Bowmanville office or Mississauga offices (2 days at the office)
