Job Summary
Oversee structural design for commercial, institutional, educational, and industrial buildings, preparing technical drawings, specifications, and proposals. Conduct condition assessments of existing infrastructure and lead design of concrete, steel, and mass timber structures. Manage multi-disciplinary projects and junior engineers while ensuring compliance with quality assurance programs and the Ontario Building Code. Work from conceptual stages through completion, utilizing software like SAP2000. Requires a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, 8+ years of experience, and PEO membership. Hybrid schedule with 2 days at Bowmanville or Mississauga offices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in design, construction and project management of structural buildings projects
- Membership as Engineer from Professional Engineer Ontario (PEO)
- Experience leading structural design of buildings while working in multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- In depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and Canadian design standards
- Autonomy, initiative, and strong teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (for site visits, as required)
- Knowledge of structural analysis software and design tools (eg SAP2000 or similar)
Desired Qualifications
- PSPC Reliability Clearance is an asset
