Job Summary
Intermediate-Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer responsible for leading the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects for public and private sector clients. Develop and deliver process designs for water, wastewater treatment systems and pumping stations; coordinate with municipalities, stakeholders and approval agencies; liaise with clients and regulatory agencies to obtain approvals; prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control philosophies, and process calculations; identify opportunities to improve processes and engineering practices; perform data collection, operations analysis and performance assessments; conduct feasibility studies, process evaluations and alternate analyses; prepare contract drawings for construction including engineering drawings and specifications; prepare project proposals, change orders and client communications; support project management activities including progress reporting and risk identification; participate in client meetings, design workshops and technical presentations; contribute to on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with project scope. Qualifications include PE license in Ontario, bachelor’s in Chemical/Civil/Environmental Engineering, 8-10+ years municipal water/wastewater experience, experience with water and sludge/biosolids processing, knowledge of regulatory frameworks, and proficiency in process modelling (Biowin, GPS-X, CapdetWorks), AutoCAD, and MS Office; strong communication and teamwork skills. Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering
- 8-10+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater projects
- Demonstrated experience with municipal water treatment, wastewater treatment and sludge/biosolids processing
- Proven knowledge and experience with approval processes, industry standards and regulatory frameworks
- Contract administration experience is an asset
- Proficiency in process modelling, data analysis, and interpretation
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with process modelling software (Biowin, GPS-X, CapdetWorks)
- Strong AutoCAD experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
