Job Summary
Intermediate or Senior Underwriter, Marine for Coast Underwriters researching and advising on quotes, renewals, and policy changes; negotiate with brokers; participate in broker visits, industry events, and marketing efforts; provide underwriting support and recommendations to improve processes; rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals; manage policy transactions including renewals, endorsements, and cancellations; generate client communications; collaborate with Specialty Solutions and other divisions; requires Excel proficiency, and industry licenses (CIP/CRM/CAIB) or progress toward them; eligible to work in Canada; 35-hour week with hybrid work model and competitive compensation including bonus and pension benefits.
Required Qualifications
- University degree/College diploma or equivalent education and experience
- Experience in Speciality Lines Underwriting (3+ years for intermediate, 5+ years for senior)
- Experience in marine underwriting preferred
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- License such as CIP/CRM/CAIB or working towards it
- Eligibility to work in Canada
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work under pressure
