Job Summary
Use Hatch's TrainOps® software to simulate train performance, evaluate rail network operations and capacity, and assess traction power systems. Manage the development of client rail service and operating plans, support Operations and Maintenance Cost modeling, and lead studies on travel time, system capacity, network improvements, and control line optimization. Author technical reports, mentor junior staff, and perform quality reviews while supporting feature development and documentation for the rail simulation software used across urban transit, commuter, and mainline railroads.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in an applicable field
- At least 3 years practical industry experience in rail operations, including service planning and operating plan development
- Proficiency in office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Knowledge of rail systems, signals, and vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience using rail simulation software such as Berkeley Simulation Systems' RTC, OpenTrack, Systra's RailSim and/or Transportation Decision System's OnTrack software
- Experience with rail operating rules development/interpretation and/or transportation systems management
