Job Summary
Intermediate Software Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor focused on designing, implementing, and executing high-quality testing and automation solutions across Transamerica’s technology ecosystem. Emphasizes test automation, CI/CD integration, and modern quality engineering practices for cloud-native, distributed systems. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions; executing functional, regression, API, and integration testing for complex applications and microservices; contributing to test strategy and test plans; integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; participating in code reviews; defect tracking and root-cause analysis; collaborating with DevOps and platform teams for reliable test execution in cloud/container environments; supporting performance, reliability, and security testing; and communicating results and quality insights to stakeholders. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in distributed apps and software quality engineering, proficiency in .NET/C# and/or Java with Spring, experience with Selenium/Cypress/Playwright/Postman/REST-assured/NUnit/JUnit, CI/CD tools (Git/Jenkins/Azure DevOps/Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift), cloud experience (AWS/Azure), UI tech (Angular/React/Vue.js/ASP.NET MVC/HTML/JS/CSS), and preferred AI-driven development experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Three years of experience working with modern distributed applications, databases, and microservices.
- Three years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering, including automated and manual testing.
