Job Summary
Prepare, deploy, and maintain geophysical equipment while collecting seismic, resistivity, magnetics, and ground penetrating radar data in the field. Support processing and preliminary interpretation of datasets under senior guidance, then assist in developing figures, reports, and documentation of findings. Review background maps to support field planning, maintain organized records of calibration logs and data files, and collaborate on analyzing basic geophysical data. Escalate non-routine issues to senior team members and adhere to safety procedures, inventory management, and regulatory requirements. Work schedule is conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek, with occasional travel depending on project needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geoscience, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in geophysics or related fields
- Understanding of geophysical principles and techniques (seismic, EM, GPR, magnetometry)
- Familiarity with geological mapping, subsurface investigations, and environmental data collection
- Ability to work safely in varied outdoor environments and weather conditions
- Interest in fieldwork and willingness to travel for extended field campaigns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work effectively in team settings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn geophysical software
- Ability to accurately record, organize, and manage field data
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to lift, carry, and set up field equipment
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving ability

Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline
- Internship or coursework focused on geophysics or environmental geoscience
- Experience with data logging or GPS based survey systems
- Familiarity with ArcGIS or other mapping software
- Previous fieldwork or laboratory experience
- Basic knowledge of regulatory or permitting considerations in environmental or engineering projects
