Intermediate Piping Designer

Job Summary
The Intermediate Piping Designer prepares complicated drawings and charts in the Piping field and assists in designing energy-industry projects from inception through completion. Responsibilities include producing intricate drawings and BOMs, detailing components, developing designs of limited scope, assisting on construction sites, training junior staff, reporting progress to supervision, evaluating design feasibility, ensuring compliance with Vista and client specifications, drafting 2D drawings and schedules, developing 3D models under guidance, interfacing with other disciplines to incorporate data (equipment location, piping routing, foundations, instruments, panels), assisting lead/senior designers with model reviews and meeting minutes, generating isometrics and MTOs from models, and performing other duties as requested. Note: interview process includes a technical component and potential security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Four years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design in the energy industry
- Technical school certification / degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and piping
- Advanced computer skills and experience in Auto CAD, Plant 3D CADWorx, SmartPlant, AutoPLANT, AVEVA and PDMS
- Basic understanding of applicable government regulations and regulatory Codes
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-discipline environment
- Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail
- Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits
