Job Summary
Intermediate Mechanical Engineer responsible for design and analysis of Kraken Robotics’ mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD, performing FEA/simulation, developing documentation, build and test plans, and providing cross-functional engineering support across products like Launch & Recovery Systems, SAS and Mine Hunting Systems. Will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with suppliers and regulatory bodies, support production with SOPs and work in the field with clients to ensure project requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
- 4+ years' experience in mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
- Experience with 3D modelling and mechanical simulation
- Knowledge of design standards and engineering review processes
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with PDM (SolidWorks PDM is a plus)
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with sonar systems or ocean environment is a plus
- P.Eng. considered an asset
