Job Summary
The position requires a skilled Mechanical Engineer passionate about designing high performance building systems and leading projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities include designing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and heating/cooling systems for commercial and institutional buildings; leading and coordinating mechanical design from schematic phase through construction documents; collaborating with architects and engineers; developing high-quality Revit models and engineering drawings; integrating energy modelling, BIM, and lifecycle costing; managing day-to-day project activities, including client meetings; and contributing innovative mechanical solutions for green and high-performance building projects. Candidates should have strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- PEng licensure (or eligibility)
- 5+ years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems for commercial/institutional buildings
- Proficient with BIM software (Revit preferred)
- Strong knowledge of schematic design, design development, detailed calculations, and contract administration
- Skilled in equipment selection and specification writing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
