Job Summary

Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join CIMA+'s Infrastructure team. You will develop electrical power distribution designs (single-line diagrams, site power layouts, motor control schematics, standby/emergency power systems, lighting layouts) and support Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA monitoring and control systems (control panels, P&IDs, I/O lists, instrumentation selection, and communication diagrams). You’ll prepare detailed designs, calculations, technical specifications, and contract documents for municipal facilities including water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations, contribute to design reports and tender documents, participate in field investigations and inspections, perform shop drawing reviews and assist with FAT/SAT, and support contract administration (RFIs, change orders, construction-progress monitoring). You’ll liaise with clients, contractors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, and provide mentorship to junior engineers and students. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and P.Eng eligibility/registration in AB or BC, ~7 years in municipal water/wastewater or industrial infrastructure projects, CAD/technical design proficiency, knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license. The role offers hybrid work across Canada in offices in Vancouver (BC), Calgary (AB), and Edmonton (AB).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta or British Columbia, or eligible for registration
  • Approximately 7 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience in detailed design, field coordination, and construction support
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code requirements and applicable industry standards
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment
