Job Summary
Design and implement electrical systems for transportation infrastructure projects, including traffic signal and highway lighting systems. Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and municipal standards. Perform design reviews, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and conduct field inspections to verify installation quality. Provide technical guidance to junior personnel and support project coordination through client meetings and technical discussions. This mid-level role contributes to the planning and delivery of electrical systems for Egis's expanding North American infrastructure portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator
- Minimum 4+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing and managing one or more of the following: Traffic Signal Design, Highway Lighting Design
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable municipal, provincial, and industry standards
- Experience preparing engineering documentation, specifications, reports, and design deliverables
- Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Experience working within infrastructure project environments and engineering project delivery processes
Desired Qualifications
- Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Experience using AutoCAD and other electrical design software
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient electrical design practices
- Familiarity with airport security systems, control systems, and related technologies
- Experience supporting quality assurance and engineering standards development
- Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience within engineering teams
