Job Summary
Intermediate Designer in Interiors to join our Austin studio, focusing on producing functionally beautiful spaces by integrating creativity with technical execution. Responsibilities include independent judgment and critical thinking, adapting standards to project needs, coordinating and producing contract documents with PM support, and guiding projects through permitting with emphasis on technical implementation and code coordination. The role requires knowledge of construction detailing, codes, and multi-discipline coordination, plus proficiency in Revit and related design software. We seek someone who collaborates across the team, communicates clearly, and contributes to design solutions that are both aesthetically compelling and practically viable for clients and communities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited program
- 3-5 years of experience in architectural and interior design practice with a focus on construction documentation
- Knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards
- Proficiency in Revit and other design software and their application to Contract Documents
- Knowledge of codes, consultants coordination, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural, and ability to successfully complete the permitting process with minimal aid and supervision
- Basic knowledge of construction contract administration processes
- Effective communication skills (conversational and written) for ongoing project collaboration and documentation
