Job Summary
Develop project cost estimates from conceptual phases through execution, analyzing bids to ensure client value and applying negotiation strategies. Conduct benchmarking analyses to validate costs, support budget monitoring, and perform financial variance tracking. Prepare tenders, contracts, and purchase orders while assisting with contractor payment reviews and risk analysis. Collaborate with project teams to manage cost and schedule objectives, delivering financial progress reports to stakeholders. Maintain effective communication across all project phases and contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes. Fluent in French with strong English communication skills required for cross-team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in cost estimating across all phases of a project
- Experience in cost management or project controls
- Preferably within the construction industry
- University degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in cost estimating tools and software
- Good understanding of contract administration, procurement, and purchasing processes
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent in French, both spoken and written
- Strong English communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tracking/reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to promote the continuous improvement of cost management processes and tools
Desired Qualifications
- MEP specialization
- Membership in a relevant professional organization (e.g., CIQS, RICS, or AEECQ)
- Knowledge of CCDC or FIDIC contract forms
