Job Summary
Design and develop PLC and PC-based software programs for customer automation projects, integrating software with electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems. Debug and commission control systems at facilities and customer sites, selecting and testing hardware components like vision systems and motion controllers. Travel to perform installation, training, and commissioning while collaborating with designers and project managers to solve technical problems and adhere to budget and delivery schedules. Provide thorough testing of machine functionality, accurate project documentation, and customer training on operation and programming principles. Ensure all activities comply with the ATS Code of Business Conduct and divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Required Qualifications
- A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering
- Strong programming, mechanical and electrical problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation with hands-on experience
