Job Summary
The Intermediate Commercial Claims Adjuster, Accident Benefits is responsible for oversight and handling of automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle Accident Benefits claims, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and timely resolution; provides oversight of external adjusters on outsourced claims; manages claims in litigation and participates in mediations and settlement conferences; analyzes coverage and reserves in line with corporate guidelines; and collaborates with internal teams and vendor partners to control expenses and ensure compliant outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- CIP or working towards designation
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience handling casualty claims required
- Strong organizational; decision making and problem solving skillset
- Ability to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictions
- Knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
- Ability to cross-reference information with attention to detail
- Strong general computer knowledge required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
