Job Summary
Develop and implement a safe, high-quality, age-appropriate plan of care for high-acuity patients requiring intermediate care on a 25-bed general medical/surgical unit specializing in Endocrinology, Pulmonology, and Neurology. Provide advanced illness management, health promotion, and patient/family education while advocating for their needs. Maintain a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for patients ranging from neonates to 18 years old. Utilize current research and evidence to enhance role performance and improve nursing care quality. This role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a current Missouri or Kansas RN license and relevant life support certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree ADN
- Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri
- Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas
- Life Support Certifications
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Vaccination for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella)
- Evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Drug screen clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population
