Job Summary
Intermediate Accountant role focused on supporting the preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and other financial reports. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries, producing month-end accruals, reconciling and analyzing accounts to identify drivers of financial results, compiling schedules for sales tax returns, assisting with monthly/quarterly/annual reporting packages and audits, and supporting process improvements with senior team members. The position emphasizes timely, accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and various financial analyses within a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on handling multiple tasks and collaborating with management and external parties. Location is CI Financial’s head office in Ontario, Canada, with an in-office work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of financial reporting experience required
- Experience coordinating external/regulatory audits is an asset
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance is an asset
- Active enrolment in CPA program is an asset
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision/direction
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and a good team player
- Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Experience with accounting and reporting software
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with management, other employees and third parties
