Interior Expert – Instrument Panel and Console

Job Summary
Lead the design, development, validation, and launch of instrument panel and center console systems from concept to production. Define engineering requirements, specifications, and performance targets while coordinating with cross-functional teams including Styling, Electrical, HVAC, Safety, and Manufacturing. Act as the primary technical expert for IP and console components, managing supplier selection, technical communication, DVP&R activities, and cost, weight, and quality targets. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, participating in design reviews, DFMEA, and root cause analysis for issue resolution. Provide support during build events, launches, and post-launch issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in automotive interior systems, specifically in instrument panel and console design
- Deep knowledge of plastic and composite materials, injection molding, and assembly processes
- Familiarity with CAD tools (CATIA, NX) and PLM systems
- Strong understanding of vehicle integration, ergonomics, safety requirements, and HMI considerations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills

- Hands-on experience with prototype builds and launch activities
- Knowledge of the latest trends in interior systems, such as digital clusters and modular console designs
