Job Summary
Our firm seeks a creative interior designer to craft beautiful, functional spaces for commercial and residential clients. Responsibilities include collaborating with clients, creating design plans, and ensuring compliance with building codes. Ideal candidates will have strong artistic abilities, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field and passing scores on relevant design exams are required.
Required Qualifications
- Superior artistic and creative ability
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and an aptitude for visualization
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate a vision to non-design-oriented people
- Passing score on state-approved interior design exam is required; comparable work experience in the interior design field may suffice
- National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam
- California Council for Interior Design Qualification (CCIDQ) exam
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) preferred
- Certification in an interior design specialty—such as lighting design, universal design, or kitchen and bath design is preferred, but not required
- Portfolio showcasing specialized design services is a plus
