Job Summary
Mid-Tier Interior Designer with 3-5 years of experience to own design workstreams and contribute to complex projects in Melbourne. Lead from concept through construction administration, develop design concepts and client-ready documentation, coordinate with architects/engineers, manage FF&E specifications and procurement, ensure compliance with building codes and accessibility standards (ADA/AS 1428), and mentor graduate designers while delivering presentations to clients and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
- 3-5 years of professional interior design experience
- Proficiency in Revit for 3D modeling and construction documentation
- Working capability with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Experience with 3D visualization software (SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, or similar)
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with specification resources and project documentation platforms
- Basic understanding of lighting design principles and coordination requirements
- Awareness of sustainable design principles and rating systems (Green Star, WELL, LEED)
- Experience with AI-powered design and visualization tools for concept development, rendering enhancement, design iteration, and documentation efficiency
- Proficiency with generative AI platforms for design exploration, content creation, specification research, and project documentation support
- Solid understanding of space planning principles including ergonomics, circulation, zoning, and spatial efficiency
- Strong fundamentals in color theory, proportion, scale, texture, pattern, and composition
- Familiarity with furniture systems and workplace design strategies
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including accessibility compliance and fire safety requirements
- Ability to manage assigned tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
