Job Summary
Prepare and review interior design drawings, finish schedules, furniture layouts, and material selections for Government facility planning, renovation, and construction projects. Develop functional, code-compliant design concepts while coordinating with architects, engineers, and stakeholders throughout all project phases. Provide technical recommendations during planning, design, construction, and close-out activities, ensuring adherence to accessibility standards and project requirements. This role involves frequent temporary duty travel to NSA Bahrain, including work in austere environments with damaged facilities, alongside primary duties at NSA Naples, Italy. Candidates must hold a CIDA degree, NCIDQ certification, and U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) accredited program
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional interior design experience
- Current Interior Design License or National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles, space planning, finish selection, and design documentation
- U.S. Citizenship
- Valid driver's license
- Capability to perform physical activities such as prolonged walking, standing, climbing, crouching, and bending
- Ability to travel to NSA Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain, including NSA 1, NSA 2, NSA 3, and Isa Air Base
- Ability to work in austere environments due to damaged facilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. federal or Department of Defense (DoD) facility projects
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary architectural and engineering teams
