Job Summary
Develop competitive fee structures and manage project schedules to ensure completion on time and within budget. Oversee construction phase procedures, including shop drawings, submittals, and addenda, while coordinating internal staff, external consultants, and stakeholders to achieve cohesive project outcomes. Lead the team through design and technical ideation, resolving code-related design issues and applying appropriate industry standards and construction practices. Drive innovation in design solutions and pursue new business opportunities through professional networks. This full-time, on-site role in Los Angeles requires a CIDA-accredited degree, 12+ years of commercial design experience, and Revit proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
- 12+ years of experience in commercial design
- Professional registration
- Display strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, space planning skills and detailing
- Demonstrated skills in developing design schemes and coordinating design teams
- High commitment to QA/QC
- Revit proficiency and technical excellence
- Thorough understanding of how a drawing set goes together
- Acumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budget
- Knows how to research and document codes for specific projects
- Experience managing a variety of consultants and contractors
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible attitude
- Proficiency or experience with managing overall project fees and schedules
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage client and team relationships including overall work plan development and sub-consultant coordination efforts
- Successful record of pursuing new projects through business development, marketing, and client satisfaction
- Confident presentation ability
- This role is an in-office position
- Potential travel opportunities
- This position is designated as full-time on-site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours
- Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role
