Job Summary
Develop competitive fee structures and manage project schedules to ensure completion on time and within budget. Anticipate client expectations and lead staff by identifying roles, providing mentorship, and facilitating open dialogue on design and technical ideation. Oversee selection of furnishings, administration of construction procedures including submittals and clarifications, and coordinate internal staff, external consultants, and stakeholders to achieve cohesive project outcomes. Drive innovation in design solutions, resolve technical challenges, and apply industry standards and code requirements while maintaining quality assurance processes. Actively explore new business opportunities through professional networks and conduct presentations to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in commercial furniture and interior design in the NYC market
- Workplace experience
- Expertise with FF&E coordination, procurement and installation
- Professional Interior Design registration
- Display strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, space planning skills and detailing
- Skills with the following programs: Revit, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Inscape, Mural, Designer Pages Pro
- Demonstrated skills in developing furniture package, including workstation and private office development, and coordinating with design teams and other consultants
- High commitment to QA/QC
- Revit proficiency and technical excellence
- Thorough understanding of how a construction package and furniture package goes together
- Acumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budget
- Knows how to research and document codes for specific projects
- Experience managing a variety of consultants and contractors
- Proficiency or experience with managing overall project fees and schedules
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage client and team relationships including overall work plan development and sub-consultant coordination efforts
- Successful record of pursuing new projects through business development, marketing, and client satisfaction
- Confident presentation ability
- Potential travel opportunities
- This is an in-office position
- Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role
- Monday through Friday during standard business hours
Desired Qualifications
