Job Summary
Create individualized design solutions by conducting space planning, fabric coordination, and product selection to achieve sales goals. Represent the Ethan Allen brand by greeting customers in the design center, establishing rapport, and making home calls to evaluate needs and close sales. Utilize social media platforms, blogs, and digital channels to promote the brand, build a network of outside talent, and grow the business through grassroots marketing. Coordinate with the team to maintain order, update order status promptly, and educate clients on design trends, color options, and finance plans. Enter orders using the retail point of sale system and leverage technology like 3-D Room Planner and CRM to maximize project volume.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of practical interior design experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design-related field from an accredited institution, desirable
- Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques
- Working knowledge of online sales and design tools
- Good listening skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license, except in limited circumstances in which the associate can establish to the Company's satisfaction that they have available, for use during all business hours, an alternate means of transportation not requiring the operation of a motor vehicle which will enable them to perform the duties of their position
- Intermediate skill competency using digital floor planning technology
- Willing and capable of learning new technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design-related field from an accredited institution, desirable
- Proven experience preferred
- 3D applications a plus
- Experience using interactive technology to view design concepts such as augmented reality, virtual reality and other visualization tools
