Job Summary

Plan curriculum, prepare lessons, and devise teaching tools for special needs students while providing intensive instruction tailored to individual abilities and physical limitations. Evaluate student progress using screening measures and diagnostic tests, grade performance, and establish behavior modification programs to maintain classroom order. Conduct IEP-team meetings, counsel parents, and observe students to detect health or emotional disturbances, reporting any abuse or neglect immediately. Maintain attendance and grade records, complete necessary paperwork, and represent the school community positively while adhering to all safety rules and board policies.
