Job Summary
Interim Middle School Math Teacher at Catlin Gabel School teaching middle school math using an inquiry-based Illustrative Mathematics curriculum. Responsibilities include teaching four classes, co-mentoring a homeroom/advisory group, coordinating and implementing assessments with differentiated instruction, collaborating on math curriculum across the Middle School, communicating with families, participating in grade-level teams, and developing/leading experiential learning activities. Requires BA/BS in math or related field; MA/MS preferred; at least two years of math teaching experience; familiarity with Illustrative Mathematics and progressive, student-centered pedagogy.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS in math or related field required
- MA or MS in math or related field and/or related experience preferable
- At least two years demonstrated effective math teaching experience required
- Experience with Illustrative Mathematics is a plus
- Experience in curriculum development is a plus
- Understanding by Design instructional planning a plus
