Job Summary
Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting and finance operations, managing month-end and year-end close processes while ensuring accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintain internal controls, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities. Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insight, coordinate external audits, and lead accounting staff through process improvements and GAAP compliance. This 3–4 month contract in Louisville, KY, offers an immediate start for a CPA or experienced controller to drive operational efficiencies at a respected higher education institution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Previous Controller or Assistant Controller experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience leading accounting teams and managing financial operations
- Ability to quickly evaluate processes and implement improvements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Higher education, nonprofit, or public sector experience
- CPA designation
