Job Summary
Translate CEO priorities into enterprise-wide implementation plans, timelines, and performance measures while monitoring progress toward Umoja's Strategic Plan. Identify organizational risks, bottlenecks, and capacity challenges requiring executive attention, then lead CEO-directed strategic initiatives spanning multiple departments. Prepare executive analyses, presentations, and briefings for CEO and Board decision-making, while facilitating Executive Leadership Team coordination and accountability. Serve as a trusted advisor on organizational effectiveness and strategic opportunities, helping maximize executive leadership through thoughtful planning and follow-through. This limited-term appointment supports organizational transition and growth within a statewide nonprofit advancing student success across California's higher education partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Eight to twelve years of progressively responsible executive leadership, strategy, consulting, or Chief of Staff experience
- Demonstrated success partnering directly with CEOs, presidents, executive directors, or executive leadership teams
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and project leadership skills
- Outstanding judgment, discretion, political acumen, and executive presence
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives without relying on formal authority
- Location: Sacramento, California
- Periodic Statewide Travel Required
Desired Qualifications
- Master's or other advanced degree
