Job Summary

Manage day-to-day operations of a school campus with a focus on Special & Alternative Education students, applying strong knowledge of federal laws dealing with ESE students. Lead curriculum development for middle and/or high school settings while fostering a growth mindset within small groups in alternate educational environments. Coordinate administrative duties as required by School Board Policy 3.10, ensuring compliance with drug-free workplace standards and background screening protocols. This interim role supports the District's mission to provide equitable educational opportunities, requiring a valid Florida Educator Certificate and a proven track record of highly effective or effective evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate with School Principal listed under the coverage area
  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate with Educational Leadership listed under the coverage area
  • Copies of final evaluations as a principal for the last three years with a rating of highly effective or effective
  • Copies of final evaluations as an assistant principal for the last three years with a rating of highly effective or effective
  • Copies of final evaluations as a teacher for the last three years with a rating of highly effective or effective
  • Proof of completing a principal preparation program
  • Proof of completing an assistant principal preparation program
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a school campus
  • Knowledge of middle and/or high school curriculum
  • Growth mindset and the ability to work in a small group in an alternate setting
  • Strong knowledge of federal laws dealing with ESE students
  • Completion of forms required by federal and state agencies and the School Board
  • Completion of forms related to the employee benefits package
  • Compliance with School Board Policy 3.10 procedures
  • Completion of drug testing pursuant to School Board Policy 3.96 or 3.961
  • Medical clearance from professionals selected by the School Board (if applicable)
  • Word per Minute (WPM) requirement for the given position (for clerical positions)
