Job Summary
Interim Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with potential to become full-time permanent ADON at Edgerton Care Center. Oversees the nursing department for a 34-bed long-term care unit, with expansion to a 15-bed sub-acute unit. Opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team, lead quality and regulatory initiatives, develop and implement nursing policies, supervise nursing staff, and participate in budget and operational planning. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must be licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Wisconsin
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a DON in long-term care
- Competence in supervision, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to plan, develop and implement nursing policies
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel and support agencies
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
- Understanding of the legal aspects of nursing under the nurse practice act of Wisconsin
- Physical ability to perform waist lifts up to 30 lb with frequent lifting up to 10 lb, push up to 25 lb
- Ability to stand/walk 4-6 hours in an 8-hour day
