Job Summary

Interim Activities Director at Ciela Senior Living responsible for directing a Life Engagement program with a broad calendar of resident activities, supervising the Life Engagement team, assisting in management duties, and supporting marketing and resident engagement. Duties include planning and coordinating social events and outings, coordinating transportation and vendor contracts, booking entertainers, managing transportation logistics and budgets, handling event billing, serving as liaison between residents, families, and staff, maintaining social histories, ensuring compliance with OSHA/state regulations, and ensuring safe, dignified resident experiences with activities that address social, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. Requires a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (preferred), relevant certifications (preferred), 2 years of experience in a senior living or social activity leadership role, supervisory experience, and credentials such as CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers, plus driving and CDL readiness; strong computer skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and budgets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in related field such as fine arts, social science, recreational therapy, or gerontology preferred
  • Professional certification as a catering/event planner such as CSEP, CIC, MPI, or CPCE preferred
  • 2 years’ experience working in senior living environment, and/or social activity leadership
  • Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a related setting preferred
  • CNA, equivalent, or previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting preferred
  • Must meet all health-related requirements pertaining to state licensure
  • Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials
  • Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials
  • Must maintain annual Continuing Education credits
  • 2 year of professional driving experience in the operation of a bus or van used for transporting clients preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within specified timeframe after hire
  • Must have basic proficiency in computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to re-prioritize daily tasks, in order to accommodate fluctuating needs of the residents and the facility
  • Ability to represent the Community in a positive and professional manner
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential functions) with or without accommodation
  • Subject to pre-employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing and criminal background check
