Job Summary
Interconnection Project Manager (Remote, US) responsible for managing the interconnection process for development projects across US markets. Responsibilities include day-to-day interconnection process management from siting to execution, overseeing consultants, assisting in developing commercial arrangements to optimize project cost, schedule, and risk, evaluating utility system loading and interconnection studies, supporting PPA/financing and project sale processes, due diligence for acquisitions, and developing knowledge of regional tariffs and regulations that impact interconnection. Requires 20% domestic travel, strong communication and collaboration skills, and an engineering background with power systems expertise. The role emphasizes coordinating with utilities, ISOs, and stakeholders, and supporting project development, policy, and markets efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience with an emphasis on power systems
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in transmission planning and/or power generation interconnections
- Working knowledge of generation interconnection tariffs, interconnection agreements and requirements in one or more key markets
- Experience with distribution-interconnected projects
- Strong knowledge of power delivery and/or transmission system planning and grid operation
- Knowledge of power flow modeling and results
- Exceptional public speaking, presentation skills, and the ability to explain and communicate complex technical topics and writing of technical reports
- Outstanding project management and negotiation skills
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with utilities, ISOs and industry representatives
