Intensivist Nocturnist Needed at UPMC - 6 on, 8 off, High Acuity ICUs, GreatQuality of Life!

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA seeks a full-time Nocturnist Intensivist to join its hospital-based adult critical care team. The role includes night coverage in a 64-bed ICU tower with one physician and two AP Providers per night, in a high-acuity regional referral center offering care across Medical, Cardiovascular, Trauma, Surgical, and Neuro ICUs. The position supports a 6 on 8 off schedule with 12–14 hour night shifts and 2,016 hours annually. Procedures and capabilities include point-of-care ultrasound, videolaryngoscopy, bedside bronchoscopy, prone positioning, ECMO initiation with transfer, and access to a modern radiology suite (3T MRI). The team also has opportunities to teach residents in emergency medicine and neurology. Qualifications require an MD/DO, completion of internal medicine or emergency medicine residency, critical care fellowship, board eligibility/certification in Critical Care Medicine, license eligibility in PA, and DEA certification. Immigration status considered: J-1 waiver and H-1B for 2027 and beyond.
