Job Summary
UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA is seeking a full-time Nocturnist Intensivist to join its hospital-based adult critical care practice. This role involves night coverage with a 6 on 8 off schedule, staffing nights with one physician and two Advanced Practice Providers, and opportunities to teach residents. The ICU is a 64-bed, beacon-unit-equipped environment with access to point-of-care ultrasound, videolaryngoscopy, bronchoscopy, prone positioning, and ECMO transfer capabilities. The position supports an academic and team-based approach within a high-acuity regional referral center, offering a comprehensive compensation package, CME stipend, relocation assistance, PSLF eligibility, malpractice insurance, and a pathway to Pennsylvania medical licensure. Immigration considerations include acceptance of J-1 waivers and H-1B candidates for 2027 and beyond, and involved benefits include sign-on, productivity and quality incentives, and various insurance and retirement options.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO from an accredited medical school
- Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine Residency training
- Critical Care Fellowship training
- American Board Eligible or American Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and credentials
- DEA certification
