Job Summary

Attend intern orientation and assist with client check-ins, intakes, and assessments via phone or in person. Provide transportation to appointments and accompany clients as needed. Communicate with community partners for case coordination, explore resources, and assist with referrals. Support clients with tasks such as collecting signatures, completing paperwork, delivering items, bill payments, and navigating medical, mental health, education, and benefits systems. Maintain thorough case file documentation in the IRC electronic system, organize digital files, and record hours via the online Volunteer Dashboard. Requires a valid driver's license, car ownership, and insurance. Reports to the Senior ICM Caseworker.

  • Be sensitive to the differences of clients
  • Respect their beliefs and values, which may differ from yours
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Interest in working with the refugee community
  • Ownership of a car
  • A valid driver's license
  • Car insurance
  • Willingness to transport clients in your personal vehicle
  • Willingness to be flexible and accommodating to client needs
