Job Summary
Draft and prosecute patent applications across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, gene editing, and gene therapy. Conduct patentability searches, freedom-to-operate analyses, and prepare non-infringement and invalidity opinions. Interface with the United States Patent and Trademark Office throughout the prosecution process while managing client relationships and keeping them informed of progress. Maintain current knowledge of patent law and biotechnology developments. This mid-level role requires a 3rd-year Associate or beyond with 1-5 years of experience, a JD, and USPTO registration, with a Ph.D. in life sciences strongly preferred. Required Qualifications
- 3rd year Associate and beyond
- 1-5 years of experience prosecuting patent applications in a biotechnology practice
- Registration to practice before the USPTO (patent bar membership)
- Excellent analytical and writing skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a life sciences technology area (biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, etc.)
