Job Summary
Integrity Operations Lead needed at the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner to oversee the ISO’s integrity investigations and field-based operations. Lead investigations of misconduct across OCME facilities and networks, supervise ISO investigative staff, triage complaints, draft memoranda and findings, and coordinate with internal and external partners (including DOI, NYPD, and district attorney offices). Develop dashboards to monitor investigative trends, ensure timely and high-quality investigative outcomes, manage staff administrative functions, and stay on-call 24/7 for large-scale fatality events. Strong investigative leadership, discretion, written and verbal communication, collaboration across agencies, and experience with investigative protocols and performance management are essential.
Desired Qualifications
- Four-year high school diploma or educational equivalent with four years of relevant experience
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Education and/or experience equivalent to one or both of the above
- Experience in investigations, audit, or criminal justice
- Field-based investigations
- Ability to supervise investigative staff
- Strong discretion and judgment
- Collaboration with city/state/federal partners
- Experience with data dashboards and reporting
- Knowledge of integrity, compliance, and ethics programs
- Experience handling sensitive investigations
- Ability to work across multiple agencies (DOI, NYPD, prosecutors)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to respond 24/7 and coordinate during large-scale events
- Public health or forensic science background (preferred)
- Knowledge of OCME operations
- Experience with case management and procurement processes
- Familiarity with laboratory and mortuary environments
- Knowledge of investigation standards and agency protocols
- Ability to draft investigative memoranda and findings
- Project management and supervisory experience
- Budget and resource coordination experience
- Training and development experience for staff
- Dashboard creation and trend analysis
- Interpersonal skills for stakeholder liaison
- Integrity and ethics governance experience
- Experience with confiential assignments and sensitive projects
- Ability to operate a vehicle for fieldwork
