Job Summary
Experienced Static Equipment Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur to provide technical services for operating units, manufacturing plants, capital projects and R&D organizations. Partners with senior engineers on technical direction for complex scenarios; participates in vendor meetings and joint ventures; supports project development from concept through commissioning and startup and/or asset lifecycle decommissioning. Applies understanding of asset operations and teamwork to develop cost-effective technical support for routine problems within the core discipline; leverages established and new technologies under guidance of senior engineers. Contributes as an individual contributor across multiple technical disciplines, documents completed work for knowledge transfer, and provides mentorship to early-career professionals. Engages in internal networks to disseminate knowledge and drive skill enhancement. Requirements include a Mechanical Engineering degree, a minimum of 5 years in oil & gas/petrochemical/LNG, and broad knowledge of relevant design standards and materials; experience with pressure equipment design and related software; onsite experience with oil & gas facilities; and strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industries
- Broad and extensive knowledge of Static Equipment Industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria including ASME Code VIII, Divisions 1 and 2, API 510, API 650, API 620, API 660, API 661, API 653 & EN14015
- Knowledge of materials of construction such as carbon steel, stainless steels, nickel-based alloys
- Design, fabrication & construction experience in pressure vessels, process columns, reactor, and heat exchangers
- Experience with PV Elite, Compress, Tank, AME Tank
- Familiarity with NBIC and pressure equipment rerate and repair assessments
- Onsite experience with oil & gas facilities
- Experience coordinating & leading design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, vendor qualification and bids
- Ability to interface with process, rotating equipment, materials, and other engineering disciplines
- Strong organizational, management, and technical judgment skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
