Job Summary
Coordinate office workflows and executive briefings for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense. Monitor operations, establish output instructions, and leverage data to optimize daily activities while bridging organizational divides across multiple agencies. Identify production bottlenecks, resolve systemic inefficiencies, and adapt workflows under changing conditions. Guide high-level initiatives, assist senior staff, and align diverse leadership teams with the organization's vision. Assist in logistics planning for high-profile visits and protect senior leadership time without alienating key Action Officers and outside organizations. This role supports a hybrid schedule with 3-4 days onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA and 1-2 days remote. Requires an active TS/SCI clearance and 8+ years in military staff operations or defense administration.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, National Security Studies, or a other related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in military staff operations, government consulting, or defense administration
- Pentagon Staff literacy: Deep familiarity with the military chain of command, staff action processes (e.g., how a package is 'staffed'), and the lifecycle of executive correspondence
- Hybrid work schedule with 3-4 days per week onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA and 1-2 days remote
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, National Security Studies, or a other related field
- Prior experience working within a Pentagon Headquarters staff (OSD, Joint Staff, or Service Headquarters Staff)
- Background understanding of CBRND
