Job Summary
Integration Engineer (CRM/HRIS) who owns CRM/HRM integration work—building connectors, maintaining existing integrations, and serving as the go-to engineer when customers need data flowing into Light. Work with Customer Delivery during onboarding and with Solutions Architecture on connector design patterns. Responsibilities include building and maintaining integrations with major CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) and HRM systems (BambooHR, Personio, Deel, Workday); owning integration patterns and shared libraries; configuring/troubleshooting customer integrations during onboarding; documenting APIs and integration approaches for scalability; triaging/resolving production integration issues; and collaborating with Product to prioritize connectors based on customer demand. Requirements emphasize backend engineering (Kotlin preferred, Java/JVM acceptable), experience with third-party API integrations, OAuth/webhooks/rate limiting, PostgreSQL, and familiarity with at least one CRM/HRM API. Nice-to-have items include ERP integrations, B2B SaaS experience, and exposure to AWS (EKS/Lambda/RDS). The role is remote with competitive salary, generous leave, and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Strong backend engineering (Kotlin preferred, Java/JVM acceptable)
- Experience building and maintaining third-party API integrations
- Comfortable with OAuth flows, webhooks, rate limiting, and the messiness of real-world APIs
- PostgreSQL knowledge
- Familiarity with at least one major CRM or HRM platform's API
- Pragmatic approach - these integrations need to work reliably, not win architecture awards
- Practical experience using AI or emerging technology tools to improve productivity, insight, or decision-making, with the ability to apply first-principles thinking to new problems.
