Job Summary
The Integrated Photonics Summer PhD Intern position at HyperLight involves hands-on experience in optical and electrical testing of integrated photonic devices and systems, improving test capabilities, and assisting in R&D for product performance enhancement. Required skills include a strong understanding of integrated photonics, proficiency in data analysis tools like Python and MATLAB, and the ability to collaborate across teams. Candidates must be current Ph.D. or Master's students in a related field.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ph.D. or Master student in a Photonics related field such as Physics, Optics, Engineering
- Strong understanding of integrated photonics, silicon photonics, or related technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or equivalent
- Strong written & oral communication skills
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Ability to solve problems in new and/or ambiguous scenarios
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electro-optical modulator
- Familiarity with fiber alignment systems and free-space optics setups
- Experience with photonic device simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, COMSOL)
