Job Summary
Verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement to uphold service expectations. Participate in daily transportation brokerage activities while observing market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and revenue goals. Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers to proactively communicate service failures and minimize operational inefficiencies. Gain hands-on exposure to the tools J.B. Hunt leverages to streamline workflows and enable carrier access to load management. This part-time role offers entry-level experience in transportation logistics for students enrolled in an accredited degree program.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer
- GED (Required)
- High School (Required)
Desired Qualifications
- Junior or Senior level preferred
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Willingness to work flexible hours
