Job Summary
Manage the Williamsburg Worker Center reception as the first point of contact for members and visitors, conducting initial screenings and maintaining records in the PowerBase database. Operate the visitor triage system by managing the daily outdoor line, preparing appointment tickets, and sorting mail and packages. Support the team by referring clients to services, assisting with event registrations, and maintaining inventory of supplies. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports from collected data while helping prepare correspondence and promotional materials. Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, with fluency in English and Spanish or French required.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in written and spoken English and either Spanish or French
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of equivalent experience in an administrative support role
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications and equipment operation such as printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and telephones
- Administrative and organizational skills necessary to carry out the job description responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish or French
- Dedication and ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends as needed
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
- Able to commute using the NYC public transportation system
- Able to work in an open office space
- Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree
- Additional languages such as Bengali, Arabic or Mandarin
- Experience with immigrant communities and/or worker organizing in NYC
