Job Summary
Intake Specialist II in healthcare collaborates with referral sources and departments to process initial patient admissions, verify insurance coverage and determine patient out-of-pocket costs, obtain required documentation for insurance authorization, dispensing and billing of medications, and communicate with patients about referrals and insurance questions. Responsibilities include managing email, fax, and web portals for new referrals, coordinating with nursing agencies when needed, and ensuring information is recorded in internal systems. Requires High School Diploma or GED and an active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of practice; Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or professional license (LPN, Medical Assistant, etc.) preferred; 1–2 years of intake/medical office experience; HCPC coding and ICD-10 knowledge preferred. Hybrid remote option in Murfreesboro, TN.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of practice
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or professional license (LPN, Medical Assistant, etc.) preferred
- One to two years of related intake or medical office experience required
- Knowledge of HCPC coding, medical/pharmacy terminology and ICD-10 codes preferred
