Job Summary
Receive and review incoming referrals via fax, electronic portals, and provider communications, accurately entering patient demographics and insurance details into the system. Verify completeness of clinical notes and orders before initiating benefits investigations and authorizations. Conduct welcome calls to explain services and financial expectations, while communicating with referring providers to obtain missing information. Support prior authorization submissions by coordinating with financial counseling teams and initiating enrollment for manufacturer assistance programs. Route referrals to appropriate teams and maintain documentation in accordance with compliance standards. This role ensures timely access to therapy for specialty pharmacy and ambulatory infusion center services.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office, specialty pharmacy, or infusion services
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Knowledge of insurance plans, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Ability to manage high-volume workload and meet turnaround time expectations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with prior authorizations, benefits investigation, or revenue cycle processes
- Proficiency in EMR systems and pharmacy/infusion platforms (e.g., WeInfuse, CareTend, Brightree, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
