Job Summary
Coordinate external communications with referral sources, insurance carriers, and patients to gather information for processing prescriptions, verifying benefits, and applying charges. Initiate and track prior authorization requests, review treatment regimens for accuracy, and facilitate appeals by composing clinical letters and coordinating documentation. Manage financial assistance applications by communicating with patients, submitting electronic forms, and expediting provider reviews to avoid therapy interruptions. Document all case activity, correspondence, and regulatory compliance in the computer system while maintaining accurate records of authorization and appeal statuses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 or more years prior Pharmacy or experience
- 3 or more years prior experience with Specialty or Infusion Pharmacy medications
- Prior experience in processing Infusion therapy with strong emphasis on Ig therapy
- Thorough knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Some evening or weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in healthcare, life sciences, or business
- CA BOP Pharmacy Technician License
