Job Summary
Coordinate admission and intake activities for new and returning infusion therapy patients by investigating insurance coverage, obtaining prior authorizations, and initiating referrals. Collect demographic and insurance information, enter data into the CPR+ software system, and act as the primary contact for patient inquiries. Document medical necessity, compile required forms, and communicate regularly with referral sources to ensure therapy eligibility. Support designated staff in scanning documents, arranging home nursing referrals, and assisting with patient education and care coordination. Maintain logs for patient rounds and participate in quality improvement activities to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) or more years of experience in a healthcare office setting
- Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
- Close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Home infusion and/or specialty experience
- Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy
