Job Summary

Intake Coordinator – Bridge conducts interviews to assess eligibility for DRM’s Bridge or Bridge Emergency Family programs, identifies single adults, couples, and families seeking housing stability, and coordinates program referrals. Responsibilities include conducting initial intake sessions (in-person at DRM Admin location or via telecommunication), performing assessments, scheduling move-in for Bridge/BEF programs, maintaining program data in SCRIBE and HMIS, providing guest orientations, coordinating referrals with case management and community resources, and ensuring accurate enrollment documentation. The role requires collaboration with Intake Manager/Director of Community Life – Bridge, crisis management when needed, supporting warm referrals, and maintaining relationships with partners to support program participants. The position also involves data integrity in HMIS, following contractual standards, and supporting program operations for Bridge and BEF programming.

Required Qualifications

  • GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in a helping profession such as counseling, social work, business, or education, preferred
  • Addiction certification preferred
  • 2+ years of direct engagement with individuals experiencing homelessness and identifying barriers to housing, preferred
  • A combination of education and experience can be substituted
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of hire date
  • Ability to interview guests and input information collected into the DRM and HMIS databases. HMIS Certification completed within 30 days of hire
  • Proven ability to maintain composure during stressful situations
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Clear communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to motivationally interview or de-escalate
  • Proven ability to manage conflict with and between subordinates, peers, and superiors, expeditiously and respectfully
  • Experience working with low-income, homeless and/or indigent individuals and families
  • Must be willing to work a variable schedule to include some nights and/or weekends as needed
  • Active Driver’s License and ability to meet DRM insurability standards, as a limited amount of work-related travel may be required
  • Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct
