Job Summary
Conduct initial needs assessments and family violence risk screenings aligned with the MARAM framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Provide culturally responsive, short-term practical assistance and facilitate referrals to internal services, ACCOs, housing providers, and mental health support. Maintain accurate, confidential case notes and reports while building collaborative relationships with internal teams and external agencies. Participate in supervision, reflective practice sessions, and professional development forums. Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation including confidentiality and mandatory reporting provisions.
Required Qualifications
- A Victorian Employees Working with Children's Check card or willing to obtain one
- Willing to obtain a Police Check at Djirra's expense
- Driver's License
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new systems (including compliance portals like SHIP)
- Sound judgment around confidentiality and mandatory reporting obligations
- Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the family violence sector, preferably with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Development or related discipline
